He's already apparently planning a "revenge tour" against the seven GOP Senators who voted to convict. A Democrat-friendly FEC won't turn a blind eye to finance violations like it did in '17-'21 when it was hobbled by the GOP. Democrats have the option to vote (simple majority) on preventing him from taking office for as long as they have the majority, which, barring a D Senator dying in office, being removed, or switching parties, gives them until the inauguration of the 2022 Congress to pull that trigger. Trump's pettiness, vindictiveness and rabid extremist support base is the single greatest weapon against the reconciliation and re-establishment of a viable, re-energized, and cohesive Republican party. Alex Schiller I wrote earlier about how IMO the most important thing to consider in Trump's culpability in the Capitol riot is not what he said prior, but what he did *during* the event. It's now reported that when called for help by Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who was allegedly barricaded while people attempted to break into his office, Trump responded "I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are." Was Trump in a secure bunker when this call occurred? Was he on hold with the National Guard? Was he on with the Pentagon? Was he waiting for the press to be assembled so he could calm the nation? Or was he alone watching Newsmax and telling a leader from his own party "f*ck you" while people holding confederate flags and rifles and wearing their MAGA best were trying to break down McCarthy's door?
